TUSAL 2013

I found another inspiration to add, and it's a funny one.

Totally Useless Stitch A Long

The idea is that you save the orts you leave behind as you stitch, then post a pic of the orts jar for each full moon. I just joined, so there isn't gonna be a lot on this one.

If you are interested or amused, you can click the link in the sidebar to learn more about this fun little waste of time! :)

WIPocalypse 2013

WIPocalypse... has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

I signed up for this year's pass at cleaning out all the old pieces that are hanging around. Maybe I'll actually remember to post more too. :)

Election-night occupation

I had to do something with my hands while I was waiting for results to come in, and this little freebie from the Sampler Girl fit the bill nicely! I'm thinking about doing a much larger sampler along this line, we'll see if I have the ability to follow through.

Freebie parade!

At least that's what it's going to seem like. I tend to keep a small freebie pattern or two tucked away in my bag when I'm on the road, and I've been in the car a lot lately...

This is called "HollyDay Star", and it was a free ornament from a now-defunct company. It was supposed to be on perforated paper, but i know how likely it would be to survive on paper, so i did it on perforated plastic. I like the Darice 14-ct plastic just fine, and it looks just like paper.

And maybe the cat won't eat it. She ate the last one I did on paper.

As soon as I find the nice piece of heathered blue felt I had for it, I'll trim and back this one for the tree. I'll put up a picture of it properly decked out. If I waited to post the pics until I finished, It'd be a really empty blog...

Hi, Y'all!

Hi, Everybody from Southern Plate, and hi, Christy!
I want to give a shout-out to my favorite new cooking blog, Southern Plate, and recommend that anyone coming here give it a look-see, as we'd say in the South. :)

Just for the record, Christy, the chicken planks were out of this world! And out of the plate the minute I turned my back on 'em. I had to make a second batch just to get some for myself!

If you like to stitch, stick around here, I'll be posting up some free charts and finishing ideas soon - I've just gotten started! If you wanna learn how to stitch, I'll post up some good tutorial links in a post or two.

Have a great day!

First finish for the new blog!

Well, the first finish that gets to be here is a quick freebie from StitchyKitty, "Meow Spoken Here". It was a fun little design to do. I didn't have the specialty thread that she suggested. (Being in the wilds of Kentucky doesn't do wonders for your ability to reach a specialty shop.) I used DMC variegated instead, and I think it came out nice for the most part. I should've used something that varied more for the yarn ball, but live and learn I guess.
I haven't done any finishing with it yet. I can't figure out what to do with it.... Any suggestions?

Welcome to the nest!

I've just begun creating my own charts for cross-stitch, and I thought it was time to start a blog where I could post them for others, and show the things I've stitched.
